Copper Applications Technology Roadmap

The ICA has published a Copper Applications Technology Roadmap, a strategic planning document that describes key technical areas for potential copper development. The roadmap was developed from inputs by scores of copper industry experts and scientists from around the world, and it aims to guide collaborative, pre-competitive research efforts among copper producers and fabricators, copper using industries, universities, government programs, entrepreneurs, and independent technologists. The fundamental properties of copper have enabled it to meet society’s needs throughout history, and it is these characteristics that the industry must continue to investigate in order to uncover new ways copper can drive innovation.

In the course of developing this roadmap for future collaborative technology development, the industry set priorities for evolving copper use in existing applications and advancing copper use in emerging applications. The ICA invites you to download and examine this roadmap, and use it to stimulate conversations about copper. Questions and comments on the roadmap are also welcome.
