Steve Kukoda Named Director of Communications and Member Relations, International Copper Association, Ltd.

NEW YORK, NY - Steve Kukoda has been named Director of Communications and Member Relations for the International Copper Association, Ltd. (ICA).

Mr. Kukoda serves as the global leader of the communications team, working closely with ICA network associates around the world to fulfill the association’s communications plan, with the goal of advancing the ICA’s mission of creating a positive view of copper by all relevant publics.

Mr. Kukoda has a dual role with the ICA, so in addition to his role in communications, he also holds responsibility in the area of member relations management. In this capacity, he will work closely with Francis J. Kane, President of the ICA, on initiatives to increase awareness within member companies of the many programs that the ICA works on to promote and defend the uses of copper, to ensure member retention, and to support new member recruitment.

"I am excited to have Steve on the ICA Team," said Kane. "With Steve's diverse background in marketing and communications, coupled with his experience in the area of investor relations, I am certain he will prove to be highly valuable to the ICA organization in both of these primary areas of responsibility."

Mr. Kukoda comes to the ICA with more than a dozen years of experience in marketing communications and public relations. Most recently, he led the global communications effort and investor relations for Multiplex, Inc., a manufacturer of 10-gigagits-per-second fiber-optic components. He started his career with Lisl Cade Publicity, a New York-based firm that handled many well-known authors. He also spent several years with Trimco, a visual marketing company that specializes in creating displays and interiors for retailers and consumer product manufacturers. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Pace University in New York City.

ICA is the leading organization for promoting the use of copper worldwide. ICA increases awareness and usage of copper by communicating the unique attributes that make this sustainable element an essential contributor to the formation of life, to advances in science and technology, and to a higher standard of living throughout the world. The Association's 37 members represent about 80 percent of the world's refined copper output and are among the largest copper producers, fabricators, and wire and cable companies.
