Mollet Appointed Vice President, International Copper Association, Ltd.
New York, NY (June 16, 2003) - JOHN R. MOLLET has been appointed Vice President, Corporate Development of the International Copper Association, Ltd. (ICA).
Mollet has worked at ICA since 1998, most recently as Vice President, Sustainable Electrical Energy. Before joining ICA, Mollet held several senior management positions in the metals industry, first as Project Director at the Bekaert Corporation and then as a Senior Product Manager at Tetko, Inc. (now Sefar America, Inc.).
"We look forward to reaping the benefits of Johns leadership in this newly created position. With his extensive experience in our industry, the ICA will be well-served," said Francis J. Kane, President.
As Vice President, Corporate Development, Mollet's responsibilities will touch on the entire ICA Network and the many organizations worldwide, whose interests are congruent with those of the ICA Network. John will engage governments, multilateral agencies, non-governmental organizations, public and private foundations, and industry to coordinate optimally their activities with our own, the availability of funds, and the efficiency of their use.
Mollet is a graduate electrical engineer from the University of Ghent, Belgium.
The ICA is the leading organization for promoting the use of copper globally, inspiring the world about copper's essentiality for health, technology, and the quality of life. Headquartered in New York, ICA has regional offices in Brussels, New York, Santiago, and Singapore. The Association's 37 members represent about 80% of the worlds refined copper output and are among the largest copper producers, fabricators, and wire and cable companies.
