Antilock braking systems, which improve the ability
of drivers to control autos during difficult braking situations, contain
about two pounds of copper wiring, as well as brass screw machine
parts for hydraulic line connectors.
In some antilock braking systems, copper wiring harnesses are installed
between the wheels and the system computer and from the computer to
a unit called the hydraulic modulator.
Copper wire is also needed for the windings on direct current motors
at the hydraulic modulator and for copper-wound speed sensors at each
wheel. |
